FIRST TIME?

GETTING STARTED

Bouldering is a form of rock climbing without the need for ropes or harnesses. You do not need to be an athlete or a fitness guru to participate - our dedicated staff are more than happy to show you the ropes (or lack of) around the gym.

We have an introductory offer for all new climbers. Check out our Pricing page for more details.

Before you participate in any climbing activities with One Up, we require everyone to sign a waiver form. You can save time on arrival if you review and complete the waiver online in advance.

FAQs

Do I need to book?

No, you can just walk right in at any time during our opening hours. Come on in!

Am I allowed to bring my dog?

Sure are! We are a dog loving community at 1UP and provide a communal water bowl for dogs. All that we ask is that you only bring your dog if it can remain calm and well-behaved in a social setting and that you clean up after your dog if it has any bathroom accidents. Please also keep your dog on a leash at all times. See our About page for more details.

What should I wear to climb?

Any stretchy, comfy clothes that you don't mind getting a bit dirty.

We require you to wear climbing shoes for safety and hygiene reasons. You may bring in your own pair to wear, otherwise we have a full range of shoe sizes that can be hired for $7 for the day (free for your first time visit).

What is the minimum age to climb?

Anyone under the age of 18 must have a waiver filled out by their legal guardian. Children up to the age of 14 years require adult supervision. Supervisors are responsible for ensuring children behave appropriately whilst in the gym, including not acting dangerously or being disruptive to other climbers.

Is there parking available?

There are parking spots in the industrial precinct and street parking around.

How long can I climb for?

One entry entitles you to a full day at the gym so you are welcome to stay as long as you like. We have several amenities for you to explore including a chill out area, yoga studio, and work out area if you want to take a break from climbing!

I don't have a partner - do I need one?

No problem - bouldering is a sport that allows you to climb on your own. Bouldering is also a very social activity - you will meet people to climb with in no time!
